Things To Do In St. John’s This Summer

Take a trip to the east coast as part of your summer road trip destinations!

Looking for a summer getaway? We’d recommend St.John’s Newfoundland, also known as the Amalfi Coast of Canada! Ok, maybe we just made that up but who can blame us with the colourful buildings, stunning ocean views and some of the most delicious seafood in the world.

If you’re taking a trip out to the east this summer you won’t want to miss these events happening in town.

Pirate's Haven Annual Crab Festival

Taking place on June 25th, you rrrrrn’t going to want to miss this! Fresh, local crab cooked pirate-style and piled high, this festival is filled with fun for the whole family and is sure to have you hooked.

The Signal Hill Tattoo

Throughout July and August, set atop the famous Signal Hill, watch as the Tattoo pays homage to their Scottish roots and portrays the garrison life and duties of His Majesty’s Royal Newfoundland Regiment of Foot and the 27th Company-2nd Battalion-Royal Regiment of Artillery.

Iceberg, Whale & Seabird Cruises

If you’re like us, the only ice you know in summer is the ones your drinks are cooling on. That being said, taking a trip to Newfoundland does have it’s perks - one of which is getting up close and personal with icebergs, even in the summer! Pass through Iceberg Alley while whale watching anytime.

Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival

From July 8 - 10 the 46th annual Folk Festival celebrates Newfoundland & Labrador's unique culture with great traditional music and interactive workshops where you can learn a dance, a tune, or a tale. Celebrate the return of the festival this summer by kicking you feet up to great music and good times with friends.
